I am offering from a smoke free environment, this high quality, new tonearm wire rewire kit. All components are RoHS Compliant lead free materials. It consists of 5 wires, Red White Blue Green and Black. Each wire will be a minimum of 16 inches or 40.64 cm long. The black wire is provided for ground, but may not be required for your application. *Teflon insulated 32 AWG Silver Plated Copper stranded wire consisting of 7 strands of 40 AWG per conductor *Nominal Outside diameter of one conductor .021 inches or .53 mm *The contact area of the clips / crimp connectors are flashed gold over nickel. I recommend a little solder on the crimp connection after crimping to insure a positive connection, however too much solder will not allow the shrink tube to slide over the crimped area. *The clips / connectors have a contact resistance of .01 ohms *Compression type clips will fit all modern round cartridge pins sizes: .050 inches / 1.27 mm nominal, and will also fit round cartridge pins from .0492 inches / 1.20 mm to .0531 inches / 1.35 mm *Four color coded shrink tubes. ADVANTAGES: PTFE Insulation has an extremely low coefficient of friction, meaning that it moves freely through the twists, and turns, within, and required by cycling of the tonearm. I am offering from a smoke free environment, this high quality, Cardas multi-strand wire set that is composed of their finest ultra pure, oxygen free copper, insulated with PTFE. Also included in this kit is a 33AWG Served natural color Litz wire which can be used for ground if needed. This wire has a nylon wrap for strength, and each of the inner strands is insulated with polyester film. The overall diameter of this Litz wire is .012 inches or .3048 mm. Each individual strand in a single multi strand conductor is coated with enamel which must be removed for tinning. Consideration should also be given on how you will remove the PTFE insulation before your purchase. I have longer continuous lengths, listed, or sets available if you are interested for practice in stripping, or you require a longer lengths. This Cardas 33 AWG wire comes in four color coded twisted wires: Red (right positive), White (left positive), Green (right ground) and Blue (left ground). I have a small piece of painters tape on each end of the wire set to keep it from unraveling. There are no connectors or clips on either end of the wires. I find it best to slide the shrink tube over each wire and then solder the wire in the the cup just below the crimp area of the tube with as little solder as possible. Crimp the wire over the insulation on the wire and slide the shrink tube over the clip and heat shrink it onto the clip. Caution: Using too much solder wont allow you to slide the the tube over the clip. You can also shorten the clip if desired by breaking off the crimp portion leaving the cup, and repeating the above.
