ELAC Vintage KST 112 Crystal Stereo Turntable Cartridge, NOS in sealed case, made in Kiel or St. Georgen (PE), W. Germany in the 1960’s. This cartridge comes fitted with a dual sapphire stylus for 33/45 rpm microgroove stereo/hi-fi as well as 78 rpm records. Shown in the photos are both open and sealed items. Not unusual for early to mid 1960’s items, the foam packing in the sealed cases deteriorated completely. The cartridge removed from the case in photos above was cleaned with rubbing alcohol, carefully avoiding where the stylus is inserted into the cartridge itself. The worn Elac label on the cartridge is a result of the cleaning. Also shown is an unopened case with deteriorated foam and cartridge inside.
