Take Control of Your Sound Not all tonearms feature a VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle) adjustment to fine-tune the height at the rear of the arm so that with the stylus sitting in the groove, the tonearm is parallel to the record surface, or to compensate for the correct SRA (Stylus Rake Angle). The primary function of our shim kit is to adequately compensate when one doesn’t provide the VTA adjustment. One merely needs a spacer of a known thickness by introducing it between the headshell and the phono cartridge to reach the required Vertical Tracking Angle VTA or in other words; tonearm parallelism to the record surface. This shim kit provide flexibility to the user by stacking different thickness combinations to reach the proper spacing. The possible combinations are: 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, and 3.5mm. Carbon fiber consists of a reinforced composite material that typically offers excellent control over structure vibrational behavior. Its inherent resonant frequency has a high Q factor, it is lower in frequency than you would typically encounter for a standard metal shim, and is equally known to have a very low damping factor resulting in envisioned acoustical transparency. The use of our high-performance shims ensures a very flat and rigid plane for linking the cartridge to the headshell. Their extensive surface establishes a perfect contact to the opposite joining faces. It is an excellent intermediary material to hand over direct energy between mating surfaces.
