The advantages of using an acrylic platter as opposed to a glass one have been well documented by the Hi-Fi press – smoother (less splashy) treble, incredibly transparent midrange and more articulate bass. It just sounds more neutral. The addition of the Platter Damping Ring improves the sound quality even further – making this by far the best value replacement acrylic platter available! The SRM/TECH 10mm acrylic platter also has a record label recess so, should you wish, you can use it without a mat.
