This is a Verion/Cotter Mk1 Moving Coil Step-up Transformer. The Verion Mk1 is the same as the Cotter Mk2 transformer except the Mk 2 had RCA plugs that were an improved type. This unit has the original triaxial silver cables, but the terrible tinned RCA plugs were replaced and new spade lugs were installed. It has the general purpose P strapping optimized for moving coil phono cartridges with impedances from 2 to 30 ohms. There are some smudges on the case and there is a dent on the rear of the unit. I have used this since 1983 with various cartridges, including the Fidelity Research FR1 Mk3F, FR MC201, and the Lyra Helikon. The Helikon is a very low output cartridge but it has worked well and I am using this combination today. I’m downsizing the the system and playing less vinyl, so I decided to sell this.
