I find it best to slide the shrink tube over each wire and then solder the wire in the the cup just below the crimp area of the tube with as little solder as possible. Crimp the wire over the insulation on the wire and slide the shrink tube over the clip and heat shrink it onto the clip. Caution: Using too much solder wont allow you to slide the the tube over the clip. You can also shorten the clip if desired by breaking off the crimp portion leaving the cup, and repeating the above. PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this item you will receive the tonearm wire, rewire kit shown in the top of the photo. You do NOT receive the completed tonearm wire set with clips attached. It is shown for example only in the bottom of the photo, I am offering from a smoke free environment this high quality, new tonearm wire, rewire kit. All components are RoHS Compliant lead free materials. It is highly flexible, feather weight, multi strand copper. The kit consists of: 1. Four twisted 36 AWG color coded conductors / wires. Each conductor / wire has 6 strands of 44 AWG copper wire, making it highly flexible. Insulation colors are: Red, Black, Green, and White. The nominal outer diameter of each wire is .018 inches or .48mm. Each wire is a minimum of 20 inches or 50.8 centimeters long. 2. Five Cartridge clips (one extra, only 4 are needed), that are Gold over Nickel with a contact resistance of .01 ohms. *Compression type clips will fit all modern round cartridge pins sizes: .050 inches / 1.27 mm nominal, and will also fit round cartridge pins from .0492 inches / 1.20 mm to .0531 inches / 1.35 mm 3. Four shrink tubes, Red, Black, Green, and White. Installing the cartridge clips and shrink tube: 1. Untwist 2 1/2, or 3 inches of the wire. 2. Place the color coded shrink tube on each of the corresponding color wires. 3. Strip the ends of each wire, and tin them. 4. Crimp the wire in the clips and solder the wire in the crimped area, being careful not to get too much solder in the solder joint, or heating the shrink tube. Doing so will not allow you to slide the tube over the solder joint. 5. Slide the shrink tube over the clip to about 1/16" from the end. To the flare. 6. Heat the shrink tube being careful to avoid heating the PVC insulation on the wire. 7. Re twist the wire.
