Pat's Audio 212 On/Off Power Switch for the Philips 212 and 312 models with four wires. No soldering required. All you have to do is snip, strip, twist! Our replacement switch has been tested in dozens of Philips turntable repairs and we use it exclusively in our shop. It has a higher safety rating than the original (safe for worldwide use). Its heavy duty superior construction gives it a long lasting 10,000+ cycle lifespan. And we include the surge protection safety capacitor that helps eliminate the "pop" heard through the speakers when the turntable is powered on and off. Our switch has already been modified for your installation. The plunger stem been machined to the proper dimensions to fit your original push button cap or the chrome cap that we include. The switch bracket has been modified for easy placement and screw down. And, now the switch can be installed without having to solder any wires. Just properly connect the wires using the wire nuts provided. With the turntable unplugged from the AC/Mains power source snip the four wires leading to the old switch at the connection point, strip some insulation from the wires, join to the appropriate wire pairs on the switch and twist together with the supplied wire nut. No soldering required. Just remember which pair of wires is which (one pair from the AC/Mains power cord and the other pair from the transformer). Secure the new switch to the chassis with the original screws and mounting bracket. Don't forget to place the push button cap onto the actuator/plunger before installing. If you have any questions as to the type of switch you have or how to make the connections please feel free to contact. As longtime respected turntable service experts with years of experience working on Philips models we'll be glad to assist you.
